Barra 2022 Reserve Petite Sirah

The signature varietal that launched the Barra brand in 1997, this petite sirah features certified organic grapes that were hand picked from our 27 acre hillside vineyard, Bella Collina, located high above the Ukiah valley (925 feet elevation) in Mendocino County. Following the advice of Karl Wente and Louis Martini in the early 60’s, Charlie Barra began planting the petite sirah varietal, and we continue to bottle limited quantities of this luscious, hearty wine.

Aromatic layers of cedar and black pepper greet the senses, complemented by the enticing scents of ripe wild blackberries and earthy spice notes. This wine exhibits a deep purple hue and is extremely full-bodied, revealing rich flavors of cocoa, dark roasted coffee, and caramel on the palate. With opulent tannins and a dense mouthfeel, it delivers a long, lasting finish, making it an excellent candidate for long-term cellaring.
