Redwood Valley wines typically emphasize elegance over power, and this one is no exception. It has plenty of dark cherry fruit complemented by complex notes of fennel, sage and other herbs. The tannins are firm but balanced, and ageing for 12 months in French oak has made them smooth and round. The wine finishes with intriguing hints of brambles and forest floor.
