2004 BARRA of Mendocino Cabernet Sauvignon

2004 BARRA of Mendocino Cabernet Sauvignon
The grapes for this wine were harvested at the peak of ripeness on October 14, 2004 and cold soaked for 72 hours prior to fermentation. It fermented on the skins for 10 days before being pressed into tanks where it finished alcoholic fermentation. The wine was than transferred to small French coopered barrels (1 – 3 years old) where it finished malolactic fermentation and aged for 18 months.

Medium to dark ruby in color, this wine’s aroma expresses great depth with warm, rich characters of blackberry, cassis, mocha and cedary spice. The sweet toasty oak seems to caress and intensify the aromas of black fruit. In the flavors you will find medium to full bodied flavors of licorice, plum, wild berry and spicy black currant that are soft and rich. The fine integrated tannins are well balanced and only add to the long lingering finish. Estate grown. Made from organically grown grapes.
