The grapes for this wine were harvested at the peak of ripeness on September 16, 2004 and cold soaked for 48 hours prior to fermentation. It fermented on the skins for 6 days before being pressed into tanks where it finished alcoholic fermentation. The wine was than transferred to small French coopered barrels (1 – 3 years old) where it finished malolactic fermentation and aged for 18 months. The wine was blended with 14% Zinfandel from the same vineyard.
Deep dark Ruby in color, this wine offers very concentrated aromas of blackberry, black plum, dark chocolate and toffee. In the glass you’ll find intense rich flavors of cassis and cherry that just keeps on giving. The soft, velvety mouthfeel followed with rich, lively fruit makes for a very approachable pleasing wine. Estate grown. Made from organically grown grapes.
