 Located on the bench lands at the headwaters of the Russian River in Redwood Valley, CA lies a pristine, organically farmed vineyard that has been producing exceptional petite sirah since 1955. In 2005, vintner Charles Barra completed his 60th harvest and in late October of that year, he specially selected one block of petite sirah grapes to make only ten barrels of this wonderfully decadent dessert wine (which is really Port...we just can't call it that!).
Adding unaged grape brandy on top of the fermenting skins to arrest the fermentation allowed us to capture all the beautiful, natural grape sugar flavor and color from the skins. With every sip you will enjoy captivating aromas of cherry and ripe plum that will pair perfectly with a hunk of dark chocolate or a slice of Tiramisu.
