59th Harvest 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon
|

Each bottle of 59th Harvest is personally signed by vintner Charlie Barra
- Vineyards: Made with 100% estate grown grapes from Redwood Valley Vineyards planted by Charles Barra 53 years ago.
- Harvest: Picked by hand into 1/2 ton macro-bins early in the morning of October 14, 2004. 4.0790 tons were delivered to winemaker Bruce Regalia. Brix at picking was 24.8
- Fermentation: Cold soaked for two days, followed by a slow, six-week period of fermentation in one ton stainless steel fermeners. Must was punched down by hand three times a day.
- Aging: After fermentation, wine was gravity drained into 60% new, 40% used French oak barrels selected from three different coopers. Wine was racked at end of 14th month.
Medium ruby in color, this wine has sweet toasty oak characters which frame aromas of black tea, cassis, black plum, and sage. The wine is very well balanced with smooth, supple tannins that seem to caress the palate with flavors of black cherry, cassis, mocha, cedar spice and vanilla. Elegant yet complex, this wine is very well proportioned with secondary flavors of herb, currant and cedary oak.
